From the PBS show Between the Lions, this website offers stories, games, and songs that help children practice reading skills.
This site features Language Arts and Reading activities for older elementary students.

Choose from Pre-K and Elementary stories.  There is a on-line activity, a take-home activity, and a reading list with each story.  The reading list includes books with similar themes, gives a summary, and displays a picture of the book cover.  (Animation, stories read to child)

Listen to and watch an actor read a story.  Illustrations are shown during the reading.  .  A list of suggested books is given if you like the one told by the storyteller.  You can also "Find A Book" by topic, age, or grade level. (RealPlayer plug-in required)

Beginning readers will enjoy using Wordmaker to create a list of rhyming words by matching consonants and blends to common word endings such as -at.

Take the Basic 4th Grade LEAP test to evaluate your overall readiness to take the LEAP 21 test.
PASS is a Web-based practice test for Louisiana students. PASS serves as a continuation of education reform efforts in Louisiana by giving students an opportunity to practice skills that are similar to those on the LEAP 21 and GEE 21 and to provide instruction to help strengthen those skills.
